2026 has been exceptional for Korean pop music. With BTS returning, IVE and aespa in full creative flow, and a wave of rookie groups making serious noise, the charts have been competitive. Here's our definitive ranking of the year's best.
#1 — BTS "Arirang" (March 2026)
Nothing came close. Seven years of combined military service, personal growth, and musical evolution crystallized into a single album. The title track spent 16 consecutive weeks at #1 on Gaon, broke multiple streaming records, and introduced Korean folk music to a generation that had only known idol pop. A landmark achievement.
#2 — IVE "Untouchable" (January 2026)
The year's best pure pop song. Three minutes of precisely engineered joy with genuine emotional depth underneath. Wonyoung's bridge is the vocal moment of the year.
#3 — BLACKPINK "BORN AGAIN" (February 2026)
Their most collaborative album yet, working with producers from the UK, US, and Korea simultaneously. The result sounds like nothing else in K-pop — genuinely global in the best sense.
#4 — aespa "Supernova" (Remix)" (April 2026)
The original was already massive. The 2026 remix with additional production layers and new Karina verses somehow improved on perfection.
#5 — NewJeans "Right Now" (May 2026)
NewJeans' ability to make retro sounds feel completely contemporary remains unmatched. "Right Now" is their best track — simultaneously nostalgic and futuristic.
#6-10
- #6 — SEVENTEEN "God of Music"
- #7 — Stray Kids "MIROH 2026"
- #8 — (G)I-DLE "Fate"
- #9 — NCT Dream "My Youth"
- #10 — ENHYPEN "Future Perfect"
